How to Hang Your Song Lyric Canvas — Step-by-Step Instructions | AmourPrint

Every AmourPrint canvas ships with a free hanging frame + wall-mounting hardware. Hanging takes ~10 minutes with a hammer and a level. The standard install uses two D-rings on the back of the canvas + the included nails. What's in the box
- The hand-printed canvas, stretched on a gallery-wrap frame
- 2 D-rings pre-installed on the back of the canvas
- 2 picture-hanging nails (or wall anchors for larger sizes)

Step-by-step — standard drywall (10 minutes)
- Choose your wall position. Center of canvas should sit ~57" from the floor (eye-level for an average adult).
- Mark the spot. Using a tape measure, find the center of your wall position. Mark with pencil.
- Locate the D-rings. Flip your canvas over. Measure the distance between the two D-rings (typically 8-16" depending on canvas size).
- Mark two nail positions. On the wall, measure half the D-ring distance to the left + right of your center mark. Mark both spots.
- Hammer in the nails. Use the included nails. Drive in at a slight downward angle. Leave ~1/4" sticking out.
- Hang the canvas. Lift carefully — align the D-rings over the nails. Lower onto the nails.
- Level it. Use a small level (or your phone's level app) to confirm the canvas sits straight. Adjust one nail slightly if needed.
Sizing the nails or anchors

Hanging on plaster walls
Plaster walls (common in older homes) require pilot holes + anchors:
- Use a small drill bit to create pilot holes at your nail positions
- Insert plastic-sleeve anchors
- Screw in picture-hanging screws (not nails)
- Hang canvas as described above
Hanging on brick or concrete
Use masonry anchors. The included nails won't work. Visit Home Depot or Lowes for tap-in masonry anchors rated for 5+ lbs.

Where should I put it?

What if my canvas arrives without hardware?

Can I hang it without nails (renter-friendly)?
Yes — Command Strips work for canvases up to 16×16". For 20×40" and larger, use Command Picture Hanging Strips rated for 4+ lbs. The frame is light enough.
How high should I hang it?
Center of canvas at 57" from floor for galleries and homes with adult-eye-level walking. For above furniture (sofa, bed, dresser), the bottom of the canvas should sit 6-10" above the furniture's top edge.
The canvas isn't level — what do I do?
Slide a small piece of cardboard or rubber bumper behind one of the D-rings to tilt it. Most commonly fixes the 1-2 degrees of unevenness from imperfect nail placement.
Will the canvas fade in sunlight?
Our archival inks are rated 100+ years against fading. Avoid placing canvas in direct sunlight for 8+ hours/day (it WILL eventually fade in extreme exposure), but normal indoor light is fine.
