We Analyzed 2,100+ Personalized Gift Orders: When Couples Buy, What They Spend — and Why July Beats December
Most gift statistics come from surveys — what people say they spend. This is different: we analyzed 12 months of real AmourPrint orders (June 2025 – May 2026), 2,100+ orders of personalized song-lyric gifts, to see what couples and gift-givers actually do. The headline findings
- July is the #1 month for personalized couple gifts — bigger than December. In our data, July sales ran roughly 40% higher than December. Wedding season + summer anniversary season beats Christmas for romance-driven gifting.
- The average personalized gift order is about $97 — almost exactly what surveys say guests plan to spend on a wedding gift ($100–$150). Personal doesn't cost extra; it just lands harder.
- Roughly 4 in 10 canvas buyers add a frame. When people give a keepsake, they finish it — most choose display-ready over rolled prints.
- About 1 in 20 orders pays for overnight shipping. Last-minute gifting is alive and well — roughly 5% of buyers are saving the occasion inside the final 48 hours.
- ~74% of anniversary canvas orders are for milestone years (1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 50) — consistent with our anniversary gift comparison data.
- Fall is the quiet season; January is the cliff. October and January are the two slowest gifting months in our data — if you want to stand out with a "just because" gift, that's when nobody else is giving one.
What it means if you're buying a gift
The data says the winning move is: spend what you were already going to spend (~$100), make it personal (their song, their names, their date), make it display-ready (add the frame), and don't wait for the overnight-shipping panic. That's a song lyric canvas ordered a week early.
Methodology
Aggregated, anonymized order data from amourprint.com, June 1 2025 – May 31 2026 (2,159 orders, $209,000+ in sales). Monthly comparisons use total sales. Frame attach combines free internal-frame and paid floater-frame upgrades on canvas orders. No individual customer data is included.
