Shutterfly vs AmourPrint 2026: Song Lyric Canvas Compared (Includes Us)

Short answer: If you want to turn your song's words into framed wall art without doing any design work yourself, AmourPrint is built for that — a hand-printed, made-in-USA song lyric canvas from $48 that ships with a free wood gallery frame, a free designer proof you approve before we print, and a 4.96★ rating across 4,503 reviews, delivered in 5–7 days. If you already have a photo you love and want it printed fast and cheap, Shutterfly — a giant photo-canvas printer running since 1999 — is the more natural fit. Full disclosure before we go further: we make AmourPrint, so we've written this to be checkable rather than flattering, and we link Shutterfly's own pages so you can verify every claim.

The two brands solve genuinely different problems, and it's worth being clear about which one matches what you're actually shopping for. Shutterfly is a DIY canvas service: you upload your own photo or design, and it prints it. AmourPrint is a done-for-you keepsake service: you send us the song and the names or date, and our team lays out the lyrics as artwork for you. Neither is "better" in the abstract — they're better at different jobs.

Shutterfly vs AmourPrint: the honest criteria table

Every figure below is sourced. AmourPrint's numbers are our own published specs; Shutterfly's are from its own site and an independent hands-on review (linked at the end). Shutterfly prices swing widely because the brand runs frequent, deep sitewide sales, so we've noted that rather than pretending there's one fixed number.

Where Shutterfly genuinely wins

Shutterfly earns its reputation, and there are real reasons to choose it. It's one of the longest-running photo printers in the country — canvas prints since 1999 — with a polished ordering flow and a genuinely useful 3D preview that shows the front, back and wrapped edges of your image before you buy. Its giclee printing on 1.5"-deep, solid-wood-stretched canvas is archival and arrives ready to hang. If you're on a deadline, Shutterfly's Super Rush option (1–2 business days) is faster than almost anyone, and its frequent 40–50%-off sales can make a canvas cheap if you time it right. Crucially, Shutterfly prints any image — a wedding photo, a pet, a landscape — which AmourPrint doesn't do. If you already have the picture you want on the wall, that flexibility is the whole ballgame, and Shutterfly is the sensible pick.

Where AmourPrint wins

The gap opens up the moment the gift is meant to be a song rather than a photo. Shutterfly won't turn lyrics into artwork for you — you'd have to design the lyric graphic yourself and upload it, which defeats the point for most people. AmourPrint does that design work: send us "your song" and we compose the lyrics into a clean, framed-ready layout. Three more differences matter for a keepsake. First, the frame: our wood gallery frame is included from $48, where a Shutterfly frame is a paid add-on on top of the canvas. Second, the proof: a real person sends you a proof to approve before anything prints, so a misspelled name or wrong date gets caught by a human, not just an automated image preview. Third, the receipts: our 4.96★ rating sits on 4,503 published reviews you can read, rather than a big-brand halo with no per-product star count. For an anniversary, wedding or first-dance gift, those three things are usually what people are actually paying for.

So which should you buy?

Match the tool to the job. If you already have a photo and want it printed fast or cheap, buy Shutterfly — its speed, sales and flexibility are hard to beat. If you want your song's lyrics turned into framed wall art, with the frame included and a human proof before printing, buy AmourPrint. You can browse the whole range on our song lyric canvas collection, or start your piece on the custom song lyrics canvas — every order includes the free wood gallery frame and free proof. FAQ

Does Shutterfly make song lyric canvases?
Not as a design service. Shutterfly prints photos and designs you upload, so you'd have to create the lyric artwork yourself first. AmourPrint composes the lyrics into artwork for you and includes a free proof and a free wood gallery frame, from $48.

Is Shutterfly or AmourPrint cheaper?
It depends on timing. Shutterfly's sticker prices are often higher but it runs deep, frequent sales — one independent 16x20 test was advertised at $35 during a promo, plus a $15 shipping fee. AmourPrint starts at $48 with the frame already included, so there's no separate frame or surprise framing upgrade.

Do both ship from the USA?
Yes. AmourPrint is hand-printed in the USA and ships in 5–7 days. Shutterfly is made in the USA with globally sourced components and offers Rush (3–4 business days) and Super Rush (1–2 business days) options.

Do I get to approve the design before it prints?
With AmourPrint, yes — a designer sends you a proof to approve first. Shutterfly gives you an automated on-screen 3D preview of your own uploaded image rather than a human proof.
