What Songs Do Couples Actually Put on Canvas? We Studied 200 Real Orders (2026)
Short answer: We looked at 200 of our most recent personalized orders to see which songs couples actually choose for a lyric canvas. The clearest finding: there is no single “most popular” song. Of the roughly 75 orders that named a specific track, we counted about 70 different songs — almost no repetition. The most-requested genre was country (about 1 in 5 songs), the choices spanned roughly 90 years of music (from 1930s standards to 2024–25 releases), and only a handful of titles came up more than once. In other words, the “first dance song” market is a long tail, which is exactly why a made-to-order canvas beats any pre-printed design.
How we ran this study
AmourPrint captures the song, names, and date a customer wants on every personalized canvas. For this study we reviewed our 200 most recent orders. Not every order is a lyric canvas (some are photo or sound-wave designs, some are gifts with no song), so of those 200, about 75 named a specific song. We counted how often each song and genre appeared. This is our own first-party order data — not a survey, not an estimate — though as a snapshot of 200 recent orders it is a sample, not the whole catalog. To respect artists we report song titles and genres only.
Finding 1: there is no “number one” song
The headline result surprised us. Across the ~75 orders that named a song, we found roughly 70 distinct titles. Only four songs appeared more than once in the sample: “At Last,” “Unforgettable,” “Amazed,” and “Nothing Else Matters.” Everything else was chosen by exactly one couple. That near-total lack of repetition is the whole story: couples do not pick from a short list of wedding standards — they pick their song, and almost everyone’s is different.
Finding 2: country is the most-requested genre
When we grouped the songs by genre, country was the single largest category — roughly one in five songs. After country, the next biggest groups were soul and jazz standards (timeless slow-dance songs), classic rock and oldies, and modern pop and R&B. A smaller number were worship songs or Latin tracks. The spread shows how personal the choice is: the same studio printed a 1950s jazz standard and a 2024 pop ballad in the same week.
| Genre | Share of named songs (approx.) |
|---|---|
| Country | ~1 in 5 (largest single genre) |
| Soul & jazz standards | Second most common |
| Classic rock & oldies | Third |
| Modern pop & R&B | Fourth |
| Worship / Latin / other | Remainder |
Finding 3: the songs span about 90 years
The oldest song in the sample dated to the 1930s (a jazz-era standard); the newest were 2024–25 releases. That is roughly a 90-year range of music living side by side in one order queue. Older couples celebrating milestone anniversaries often chose the standards they married to decades ago; newer couples chose songs released the year they got engaged. Both end up as the same product: the words that matter, framed on the wall.
Finding 4: many couples send the full lyrics, not just a title
A notable share of orders pasted an entire verse or chorus into the song field rather than just a title — the exact lines that meant something during their dance. Others sent only a title and let us format it. Both work, because the canvas is built from the words you provide and you approve a free proof before it prints.
What this means if you’re choosing a song
The data is oddly reassuring: there is no “correct” first-dance or anniversary song. The most common choice in our study was uniqueness itself. So pick the track that is actually yours — the one from the wedding, the road trip, or the year you met — even if it is not a traditional slow dance. Because every canvas is made to order, any song works, from a 1940s standard to last year’s release, with no sheet-music requirement.

Frequently asked questions
What is the most popular first dance song for a canvas?
In our study of 200 recent orders, no single song dominated — about 75 orders named a song and produced roughly 70 different titles. Only “At Last,” “Unforgettable,” “Amazed,” and “Nothing Else Matters” appeared more than once. The most common pattern was that every couple chose something different.
What genre of song do couples choose most?
Country was the single most-requested genre in our sample — about one in five songs — followed by soul and jazz standards, classic rock, and modern pop.
Does the song have to be a traditional wedding song?
No. The songs in our data spanned about 90 years and every genre. Any song works because each canvas is made to order, with no sheet-music requirement.
Is this real order data?
Yes. It is AmourPrint’s own first-party data from 200 recent personalized orders — not a survey. As a recent snapshot it is a sample rather than the full catalog, and we report song titles and genres only.
