Why this question comes up
A bilingual couple wants their first-dance song lyric in Spanish. A grandmother who only reads Italian needs the inscription in her language. A wedding gift in Korean for in-laws who emigrated. Across 100,000+ canvases shipped, we've printed lyrics, inscriptions, and dedications in 40+ languages.
Languages we routinely handle
- Romance languages: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Catalan — all accents (á, é, í, ñ, ç, etc.) render cleanly.
- Germanic: German (with ä, ö, ü, ß), Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish.
- Slavic: Polish (ł, ą, ę, ś, ż), Czech, Slovak, Croatian, Slovenian, Serbian (Latin or Cyrillic).
- Cyrillic: Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian.
- CJK: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese (kanji + hiragana + katakana), Korean (hangul).
- Other: Greek, Hebrew (right-to-left layouts supported), Arabic, Turkish, Vietnamese.
How to submit non-English text correctly
Paste the text directly into the AmourPrint order form — don't transliterate. "Te amo siempre" will print as "Te amo siempre" with the correct ñ, á, etc. accents intact. If you're not sure your keyboard supports the special characters, type the text in Google Docs first, then copy-paste. The 24-hour designer preview will show you exactly how every character renders before production.
Most-requested non-English lyric picks
- Spanish: Besáme Mucho, Cielito Lindo, Te Amo, Vivir Mi Vida.
- French: La Vie en Rose, Ne Me Quitte Pas, Je T'aime.
- Italian: Con Te Partirò, O Sole Mio, Volare.
- Portuguese: Garota de Ipanema.
- Korean: ballads from K-drama soundtracks (frequent requests).
- Japanese: city-pop and enka standards.
Fonts that support non-English correctly
Our default serif and script fonts include full Latin-Extended-A and Latin-Extended-B character sets — all Romance, Germanic, and Slavic accents work. For Cyrillic, CJK, Greek, Hebrew, and Arabic, we use script-specific font families that match the visual feel of our default English fonts. The 24-hour designer preview shows the result before printing.
Right-to-left languages
Hebrew and Arabic canvases use right-to-left layout. The design team confirms direction during the preview stage. If you want a bilingual canvas (e.g., English + Hebrew on the same canvas), specify which language should anchor the top vs. the bottom.
Bilingual canvases
Common requests: English on top + Spanish on bottom, French on top + English on bottom, English + Korean side-by-side. The 18x24 size handles bilingual layouts comfortably. See lyric+photo layout options.
Verification step
If you're not a native speaker of the target language, ask a friend who is to review the 24-hour preview screenshot before approving. We've shipped a small number of canvases with typos that fluent reviewers would have caught — the free unlimited revisions policy means we can fix it for free, but it adds days to production. Better to catch at preview.
What customers say
"My abuela only reads Spanish. I ordered the canvas with the inscription in Spanish (´Para la mujer que me enseñó a amar´) and the accents all printed perfectly. She cried and called every cousin in three countries to brag about it." — AmourPrint customer
